Shuli Chakre Elected as Mao Students’ Union New President

UKHRUL: Shuli Chakre has been elected as the new president of the Mao Students’ Union.

The election was held on Saturday at its Office Headquarters, Tadubi. The elected members mark a new beginning for the term 2026-27.

The newly constituted Executive Council includes Tuni Khrasi as Vice-President, Kaisii Lot Pfotte as General Secretary, Simon Athili Secretary as Assistant General Secretary,  Daiho Lokho as Secretary  Education & Statistics. In Assembly Affairs, Salew Kaihrii was chosen as speaker.

The election was overseen by Election Commissioner Jonah Mao, assisted by Member Secretary E. Krelo and Election Commission member Neli Athili. Following the completion of the process, the Election Commission conveyed its congratulations to all elected representatives and expressed confidence in their leadership for the forthcoming tenure.

According to sources, the formal handing over of files and administration of the oath of secrecy will take place within the next 10 to 15 days, after the remaining vacant posts are duly filled.
