Tamenglong Celebrates 75th Naga Independence Day

Nagas in Tamenglong joined all the Nagas around the globe in celebrating the 75th Naga Independence Day celebration at Tamenglong Headquarters today. The program which was conducted at United Baptist Church, multi purpose hall, Tamenglong HQ was organised by GPRN Zeilad Region.

The beginning of Independence Day was mark by hoisting of Naga national flag led by Chief Guest, L. Gonmei, Kilonser GPRN. And in reverence of those lives sacrificed for Naga nation, silent prayer was led by Lieut. Col. Husimang, Chaplain, Jdn. Nde. Presidential speech from NSCN-IM Chairman, Q. Tuccu was also recited during the program.

Chief Guest, L. Gonmei exhorted all Nagas not to be discouraged and shun feeling of inferiority among the Nagas regardless of being a national worker or non national worker. The emphasized that the Nagas share equal responsibility and urged all to keep striving forward.

L. Gonmei also shared the history of how Naga struggles have come thus far and informed the Nagas to be prepared for final political solution with the Indian government.

Tribal organisations, CSOs, Church leaders, Youth organisations also attended the program.
