Various Churches in Tamenglong town came together to celebrate Palm Sunday at Indoor Stadium today. The programme which began with a procession from Haipou Jadonang Park till Indoor Stadium was organised by Education Department, Rongmei Naga Baptist Association (RNBA).
As Christians across the world are observing Palm Sunday today marking the beginning of the holy week before Easter Sunday, over 1300 people in Tamenglong town attend the programme.
During the procession, mostly Sunday school children and youths walked down the street holding Palm leaves and shouting “Hosanna” to mark the entry of Jesus Christ in Jerusalem. As mentioned in the Bible when people of Jerusalem came forward to welcome the coming of Jesus riding on a donkey.
The programme conducted in the Indoor Stadium was led by Limchuang Rikhi Panmei, Sunday School Superintendent, Tamenglong Baptist Church, Council Area.
Sermons were delivered by Namsuandai Gonmei, Asst Pastor, Bethel Baptist Church and Timothy Gonmei with benediction given by Rev Gaisinglung Pamei, Finance Secretary, RNBA.
