Due to incessant rain in Tamenglong district, people accessing deputy commissioner’s office, Mini Secretariat, Farmlane has become an increasing concern. In addition to the incompletion of approach road from main town, absence of proper drainage and continuous rain has worsened the situation and has added to the hardship of the populace in accessing offices.
Mini Secretariat, which is around 4 km away from main town, the only viable alternative in accessing Mini Secretariat is via two ways, either from ADC Colony or via C. Centre Colony which is currently the better route.
However both these alternate roads are in very poor condition and unmotorable. Given the road condition, any office work commute is taken by foot.
Earlier, the district administration arranged bus at lower fare but the service has stopped owing to the condition of the road.
In view of the circumstances, district administration on August 18 ordered shifting of work to Mini Secretariat to Punjab National Bank Tamenglong bazaar branch and Treasury Office before September 5.
