Tangkhul Welfare Society Mumbai – Football Tournament in Aid of 10th Anniversary.
Mumbai, June 10: The Tangkhul Welfare Mumbai Society (TWSM) organized one day football tournament on June 10 at United city Football Turf, Kalina Mumbai. The tournament is one of the first official tournaments organized by TWSM which included well known Tangkhul professional footballers playing in different clubs in Mumbai. The tournament was organized as fund raiser for the upcoming 10th Anniversary of Tangkhul Welfare Society Mumbai, which is scheduled in the month of October, 2023.

The event was graced by Achan Sasa, proprietor of The Source store, as the Chief Guest. The event saw a large crowd turn up, apart from football, there were some fun games played for the crowd. The tournament was played in league system by 8 teams.
To encourage the players and at the same time generate funds, 16 players were auctioned. All the 8 teams were allowed to purchase 2 players each from the auction. The players included professional footballers from Century Ryon, United City FC, Salgoacar FC and some young rising stars who are likely to join known football clubs soon. The highest bid won in the auction was from IHAO (B) FC managed by Asa Kazingmei with team captaincy of Sopam Tungshang.

During the event, Ocean Beverages was the official drinks partner, supplying Ocean Fruit water to the team players and crowd. TWSM said it is thankful to the company and added it look forward to more of such collaborations in the days to come.
The tournament also saw Women Penalty shoot-out much to the cheering and entertainment of the crowd. Philachui Luithui from Veteran FC won the women penalty shoot-out, whereas the Champion Trophy of the tournament was lifted by IHAO(A) FC under the leadership of Matthew Siro and Ningkhan Valui. The runners up went to Old Monk FC under the captaincy of Songachan Kashung.
