Rice sale initiative in Ukhrul District to address shortage

Ukhrul: In response to the current shortage of rice in Ukhrul District, the District Administration, in collaboration with the District Supply Officer, has announced the commencement of the sale of Open Market Sale Scheme (Domestic) rice at various designated points.

This initiative aims to provide the essential food item to the residents of Ukhrul District, ensuring their basic needs are met during this challenging time.

The sale of OMSS-D rice will be conducted at different venues on specific dates, as follows:

  3. Date: 13 June 2023
    Venue: Jessami
  4. Date: 15 June 2023
    Venue: Ngahui

    Venue: Paorei
  6. Date: 17 June 2023
    Venue: Teinem
  7. Date: 19 June 2023
    Venue: Shangshak

During the sale, the price of OMSS-D rice will be fixed at Rupees 32/- per kilogram, and each individual will be allowed to purchase a maximum of 10 kilograms. The total quantity available for sale is 150 quintals.

To facilitate the purchasing process, buyers will be required to provide their Name, Father’s Name, Address, and Mobile Number at the time of purchase.

The step to provide relief to the residents of Ukhrul District and address the rice shortage is taken jointly by Zuringla Kengoo, Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul and the District Supply Officer is expected to alleviate the hardships faced by the community.
