The office of the Tangkhul Shanao Ngarumsaklong Delhi (Tangkhul Women’s League) in a strongly worded condemnation note issued on Monday, “condemned the physical and violent assault brought on to Mr Soshim Keishing of Kumram Village by the Rayotang Covid-19 measure committee under TCFC on the 3rd of October, 2020.”

The Tangkhul Women’s League opined that the “collection of money by reason of unauthorised inter-district travel fee from the public is illegal and amounts to extortion, and we unreservedly appeal to the concerned authorities to take necessary actions against such practices at the earliest.”

The Women’s League further expressed grave concern about the assault and pointed out the need for the society at large to “encourage the youths to strive bigger and better” and to understand and introspect the seriousness of such abhorrent violent assault “ruining their lives by inflicting such devastating physical and mental injury will only impair our society” it said.

The condemnation note signed by the Chairperson, Yaoreiphy Horam and co-signed by Awungrinchon Khangrah, Secretary TSNLD, “appealed the public and the concerned authorities to take appropriate action while aiding Mr Soshim Keishing in every way possible and ensure that such unbecoming acts be restrained from repeating in the future”.
