The Pastor of Tashar village, Ukhrul has done an amazing work by arranging Bus and Bolero, from Tashar to PHC, Lambui on April 30, 2021. Pastor Mayonsing Moinao had even taken few villagers till District Hospital, Ukhrul in the month of May.

On July 18 Christian Home, SDO, Ukhrul, Dr Yuithing Vashum, Dr Pamza Luikham along with a Doctor and three nurses visited Tashar Village for Free Vaccination cum Awareness program. The Tashar Katamnao Long (TKL) took the initiative. Around 300 attended the program and 71 of them got vaccinated.

It was also informed that Phalee Village has the highest number of vaccination in Tangkhul Villages. The total number vaccinated till now is 658. Ringui Village has the highest one day Vaccination which is 431.

Dr. Yuithingla Vashum, MS, informed that Vaccination is voluntary and no one is forced to get vaccinated. The rumors about Doctors getting different vaccination is not true neither are the many rumors that is spreading in social media. MOHFW has informed that Covid-19 vaccine is safe in pregnancy. Pregnant women or lactating mothers should get vaccinated as soon as possible to avoid increased risk, to both the mother and the baby, if affected by the virus. Those who have any kind of allergy are also safe to get vaccinated. But it is important to inform the doctors and nurses of your medical history before you get vaccination.

Getting vaccine will increase the immune response. Vaccinated people would reduce the risk of spreading the virus including new virus variants. Similarly, unvaccinated person would endanger increasing risk of spreading the virus.
Dr Vashum further informed that the medical team is paying a home visit to vaccinate cancer patients, those who are bed ridden and those who had done kidney transplant or hip replacement. The team is travelling to villages and PHCs for Vaccination drive every week.

The villagers can help the medical team by mobilizing those who are getting the jab. Such compassionate work by Tashar Village has been greatly appreciated.
