UKHRUL: A one-Day Legal Awareness Programme on Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking was conducted at Kambang Khunou village in Tengnoupal district, Manipur on Sunday.
The programme was organized by the Kambang Khunou Youth Club (KKYC) in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Chandel, and assisted by the Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM) under the NALSA’s DAWN Scheme, 2025.
Phunshimdar Dangsha (Advocate), Case Worker, One Stop Centre, Tengnoupal district, attended the programme as the resource person while David Charanga, chairman, Kambang Khunou village graced the occasion as the special guest.

During the session, the resource person elaborately explained the serious issues of drug abuse and illicit trafficking, highlighting their legal, social, and psychological consequences. She emphasized that rising unemployment is one of the major root causes contributing to the increasing incidence of drug abuse and illicit trafficking in society.
The programme was attended by village authority members, women leaders, youth leaders, student leaders, elders, church leaders, and a large number of men, women, and youths of Kambang Khunou village.
The Kambang Khunou Youth Club (KKYC) extended its gratitude and appreciation to the District Legal Services Authority, Chandel, the Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM), and the resource person for their valuable support, guidance, and meaningful contribution towards creating awareness among the people.
