He described Keyho as a true patriot and a man of vision who carried the hopes and aspirations of the Naga people close to his heart.

Th. Muivah particularly recalled speaking to Keyho over the telephone during his illness, saying that even then his thoughts remained focused on the Naga people and the future of their nation. Keyho had encouraged him not to lose heart but to continue the struggle, reminding him that a settlement must ultimately be reached.

“Even in his final days, his commitment and concern for our people remained unchanged,” Th. Muivah stated.

He further recalled that Keyho, a native of Chedema village, joined the Naga Army at a young age with an unwavering desire to serve the Naga nation. Throughout his life, he stood for unity among the Nagas, believing that their strength lay in togetherness.

Th. Muivah said Keyho’s passing marked the closing of another chapter in their shared struggle, adding that the Angami community in particular and the Naga people in general could take pride in having a son who dedicated his life to the service of his people.

On behalf of the NSCN/GPRN, Th. Muivah conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that they find strength and courage during the difficult time.

“Farewell, my dear comrade. We have walked a long road together. Though you have gone ahead of me, the memories of our shared journey and the ideals for which we stood will remain in my heart until my own journey comes to an end,” he wrote.
