Wung Tangkhul Region Expresses Heartfelt Gratitude

Imphal, October 23: The Wung Tangkhul Region (WTR) of NSCN-IM has expressed its “heartfelt gratitude for making the historic and nostalgic home coming of our most honourable Ato Kilonser, the Chief Negotiator, Th. Muivah after a gap of 61 years and a grand success at Ukhrul headquarters on October 22, 2025”.

The WTR of NSCN-IM extended its gratitude to Co-ordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) led by its convenor Khuraijam Athouba, Federation of Civil Societies, Manipur (FOCS), All Manipur Meitei-Pangal Association (AMMPA), NPMHR led by its Secretary General Neingulo Krome, Naga Students Federation, United Naga Council, All Manipur United Clubs Organisation (AMUCO) led by Jalal, Naga Village Headman Association Manipur, All Chairman of Tangkhul Villages, All Naga Students Association Manipur, Naga Women’s Union, Manipur, Naga leaders including MLAs from different corners of Nagalim and all individuals from Chandel, Tamenglong and from four corners of Tangkhul Naga territory.

The WTR also expressed its gratitude to the main part takers in the “historic homecoming” reception program including Guru A.S. Rawung, for blowing traditional trumpet while welcoming the leader home, Pams Kindergarten, Galilee Choir, Wungramso Team, Ngainga Katamnao Long and UBC&UTBC choir for which the reception program could not be made complete.

The WTR then extended gratitude to Wungshang A. Shimray, Ningreichon R. Shimray, Rev. Fr. TS. Dominic, Parish Priest, Assumption Parish Awangkhul, Enoch Ningshen, Director, Eastern Circle, SDA, and all ordained ministers and Pastors for sparing your invaluable time and made our reception program successful.

It also extended its gratitude to school students for their “warm and lovely welcome to our great leader by giving your precious time and giving a teary flag waving welcome”. The WTR added by saying, “It will be a crime if we do not mention the names of Phungcham and Tusom Cultural troupes for your traditional welcome to our beloved Aväkharar”.

The WTR also said that, one of the most graceful welcomes given to “our great leader” was by all Tangkhul headmen along with their wives in a traditional way dignifying Naga age old culture and tradition which was insignificant. It also expressed gratitude to all NSCN authorities for escorting our most hon’ble Ato Kilonser to Ukhrul and to Somdal, his birth place.

The WTR then said the service that had been rendered by the Naga Army personnel, WTR policing cell and many “national workers could make our homecoming reception program peaceful and successful”.

The WTR also extended its gratitude to the Centre Organising Committee and Sub-Organising Committee which includes TNL, TNAL, TSL, TKS, TMNL, HKL, THYSO, Hunphun and Hungpung villages and all the silent prayer groups including the media fraternity “for the wonderful and peaceful conclusion of the historic and a very nostalgic homecoming reception program to our beloved Ato Kilonser, Th. Muivah. All achievements are due to your tireless efforts”.

The WTR then said the homecoming of Th. Muivah, the chief negotiator is not just a visitation to his birth place but an emotional homecoming which is a spiritual and political symbolism which is now a history forever. “Above all, we thank the Almighty God for ensuring the prayer of the Nagas”, it added.
