IMPHAL, Aug 20: Several houses, fish farms and paddy fields in Thoubal district of Manipur have been flooded by flood water overflowing from multiple rivers and streams due to the incessant rainfall in the past three days.

Water from the streams of Wangjing River at Lamding, Sangaiyumpham and Tentha area have been over flowing that inundated several houses.

A major canal between Loushipat and Kharungpat has also been blocked by the debris of a landslide at the Tekcham Maning Ching (hillock) late Monday night. The locals tried to clear the debris using an excavator. However, they could not succeed as incessant rainfall further aggravated the situation, resulting in the passage of water towards the paddy fields and submerged standing crops and fish farms.
