Timothy W Elected as Liangmai Naga Council President

IMPHAL, FEB 28: Timothy Wijunamai has been elected as the president of Liangmai Naga Council (LNC) for the tenure of 2026-2028 on February 27. The LNC is the apex body of the Liangmai tribe in Manipur.

Timothy Wijunamai is a noted Liangmai activist for a long time. 

Meanwhile, the Global Liangmai Forum (GLF) extended its “warmest congratulations” to Timothy Wijunamai, son of W. Ranchong of Bena Nguang, Manipur, on his election as the president of the Liangmai Naga Council Manipur for the tenure 2026-2028.

As the apex body of the Liangmai people in Manipur, the LNC holds a vital role in guiding the community toward unity, progress, and collective well-being, the GLF said. On behalf of Liangmai communities across the globe, “we convey our heartfelt best wishes to you and your entire team as you take on this significant responsibility”, it also said.

“We pray that the Good Lord will lead and guide you with wisdom and strength, enabling you to take the Liangmai people forward into a future marked by harmony, growth, and holistic prosperity. May our people continue to flourish in every aspect of life, and may your leadership be a source of inspiration and hope”, the GLF added.

Also congratulating Timothy Wijunamai, the Liangmai Sports Association (LSA) said that, as the apex body of the Liangmai people in Manipur, the LNC carries a profound responsibility in guiding the Liangmai community toward unity, progress, and holistic development. “We express our sincere best wishes to you and your entire team as you assume this noble responsibility”, the LSA stated.

Rge Liangmai sports body then said, “It is our earnest prayer that during your tenure the Liangmai people will witness meaningful transformation, renewed strength, and collective growth in every sphere of life, social, cultural, educational, economic, and spiritual”.
