Ukhrul: The Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) has issued a public notice prohibiting any form of rally, dharna, or agitation within its jurisdiction, following reports of a planned rally by the Kuki-Zo community on August 31, 2024.

Stating the importance of maintaining peace and neutrality, the TKS said, “Whereas, in the interest of maintaining peace and neutrality, the Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) hereby declares that no form of Rally, Dhara or any agitation will be permitted within the jurisdiction of the Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS).”

The TKS in its notice has instructed the Kuki Students Organization (KSO-Ukhrul, KSO-Kamjong) and the Kuki Women Union (KWU-Ukhrul, KWU-Kamjong), under the Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM), to immediately withdraw their proposed rally.

In the notice, the TKS made it clear that it would not be held responsible for any untoward incidents resulting from non-compliance with this directive.

The Kuki-Zo community’s rally, which was reportedly being organized to voice their concerns, has now been effectively banned within the TKS’s area of jurisdiction, covering Ukhrul and Kamjong districts.
