UT News Service | Ukhrul, August 9: The Action Committee of Tangkhul Leihsak Long (Tangkhul Trade and Commerce Organisation) today has prohibited the sale of chicken feeds at two shops located at Phungreitang, Ukhrul after they were found to be haording and selling under-measure.
The members of Action Committee of TLL along with a media person visited the godown and found that Anish Variety Shop was selling chicken feeds of 50 kilo bag wieghing 8 kilo less. Rahul Store was also found selling 50kg bag underweight upto 7 kilos. Machung Ragui stated that the shops after removing upto 7-8 kilos from the packing at their godown have been selling the underweight packing to the customers for a price of 50 kilos.
Convenor, Action Committee of TLL, Machung Ragui informed this correspondent that Anish Variety Shop is owned by Bijali Prasad from Bihar and Rahul Store is owned by Ajay Kumar from Bihar and both the shops are located at Phungreitang, Ukhrul. The two shops has been immediately banned from selling chicken feeds in loose or wholesale in their shops.
Action Committee of TLL has warned the two shops that strict action will be initiated if they are found selling chicken feeds in the future. Moreover, strict action will be taken against them if they sell other items under-measurement. The Tangkhul Leihsak Long appealed all shops registered under their organisation to sell items with correct measurement and not to rise their price. Failure to comply could result in cancellation of their licence to do business.
