TMNL Assembly Designates Ringphapam Kasar as President In-Charge

Ukhrul: The Emergency Assembly of Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long (TMNL) held on Saturday at TNL Hall has unanimously resolved to designate current Vice President, Ringphapam Kasar as President In-charge of TMNL over the sudden demise of TMNL President Themaso Tallanao on 24 October 2024.

Two Tangkhul youth leaders, Late Themaso Tallanao and Late Masothing Mungshon (Assistant General Secretary of TMNL), died in a fatal accident amid border mission near the Indo-Myanmar border in Kamjong District, Ukhrul, Manipur, while on duty as part of the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) “Reconnaissance Mission” team to assess the implications of the abrogation of the Free Movement Regime (FMR).

As per information made available by Speaker of TMNL, Thotreisho Keishing, the Emergency Assembly of TMNL, held on December 7 at TNL Hall, Ukhrul has designated current Vice President of TMNL, Ringphapam Kasar as the President In-charge of TMNL for the current tenure which will end on May 2026. The august house took the resolution due to the vacancy of the president post.

Ringphapam Kasar graduated from St. Edmund College, Shillong and is a native of Khangkhui Khullen, Ukhrul District.
