UKHRUL, SEP 16: The Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), the apex body of the Tangkhul community, has strongly condemned the bomb blast at the residence of Minister of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry and Transport of Manipur, Khashim Vashum. They have submitted a memorandum addressed to the Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul.

The memorandum stated, “The Tangkhul community strongly condemns the bomb blast at the residence of Eno. Khashim Vashum, Hon’ble Minister of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry and Transport of Manipur, which occurred on September 14, 2024, at around 8:40 PM. We are alarmed that the blast happened in a peaceful place like Ukhrul. This incident can only create fear and anxiety within the community.

While denouncing such acts of cowardice, we strongly demand that:

  • The concerned authority must expedite the investigation and book the culprit(s) at the earliest.
  • To prevent such incidents in the future, the District Administration must ensure the safety of the public at all times by taking up stringent and enhanced measures.
  • The District Administration must strictly monitor the entry of non-locals in the Headquarters.
