Ukhrul: According to a recent press release from the Kuki Students’ Organisation General Headquarters (KSO-GHQ), allegations made by Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh regarding foreign involvement in the State’s ethnic conflict are being questioned. The Chief Minister has reportedly suggested that external forces, including those from Myanmar, the USA, and China, are contributing to the unrest.

The organization asserts that the arrest of Mr. Thangliankap, a Myanmar national alleged to be affiliated with the Kuki National Army, Burma (KNA-B), should be approached with caution.

According to the KSO-GHQ, Mr. Thangliankap lawfully entered Manipur and registered with border authorities as a refugee, following all necessary procedures. The organization condemns the use of such allegations to further political agendas without substantial evidence.

The KSO-GHQ calls on the Government of India to conduct a thorough investigation into Mr. Thangliankap’s arrest to ensure justice and uphold the integrity of the Indian judiciary system.
