Tourism department clarifies on controversial Shirui Lily Festival 2022 poster

Ukhrul: The director of Tourism, government of Manipur, Ibohal Singh in a release Tuesday clarified on the controversial poster circulating in social media since May 2 on the upcoming Shirui Lily Festival 2022, calling it to be fake.

The Tourism department clarified it did not issue the poster and therefore requested the public not to forward or upload the fake poster.

The release said, the fake poster carried the logo of the department of Tourism, inserting the “image of Hindu deity Shri Krishna at the front and Shirui Lily flower”.

The release further said it will initiate necessary action under Copyright Act 1957 for circulation of the fake poster under the name of Shirui Lily Festival 2022 and unauthorised use of the Department’s logo.
