A press release from Tousem Area Students’ Organisation (TASO) Thursday decried the absence of Tousem sub-division SDPO post for more than a year, and said that it was a matter of grave concern.

The release issued by publicity wing TASO informed the SDPO post has been laid vacant for more than a year despite repeated petitions to the government and other officials. Stating that people in the area feel alienated, TASO expressed indignation against the inaction and the total insensitivity of the government towards the people of Tousem sub-division.

The student organization also addressed the absence of security force in Tousem sub-division to ensure safeguard of the lives of the people. The release pointed out that the sub-division has cast into a shadow of deep uncertainty given the absence of security force in the headquarters and in the bordering areas.

“People feel unsafe as there is ever increasing breakdown of law and order mechanism especially in the southern region of Tousem sub-division ,” Tousem Area Students’ Organisation said.
