Unmotorable remotest parts of Noney District receives Vaccination and Health check-up

Due to unmotorable road and inclement weather, COVID  vaccinators in Noney district is facing acute hardship to cover the unreached villages.

A vaccination team led by Dr Jendum Golmei, District Immunisation Officer, Noney on Thursday reached out to Chingmei Kabui (Pungsanmai) village under Khoupum Sub- Division, Noney district which is still unmotorable and one of the remotest parts of the district.

The medical team, COVID warriors, walked on foot for at least 4 hours with much effort to reach the village and conducted mass vaccination drive cum health check up at Chingmei Kabui Primary School.

It is said that the distance between Khoupum and Chingmei Kabui (Pungsanmai) village is 17 km. At least 15 people of 18 years and above age group benefited from vaccination. More than 30 people, including old aged, pregnant and lactating mothers and children were given free health check –up. Free medicines were also distributed for those who attended in the medical camp.
