Imphal: The Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM), General Headquarters, as part of its ongoing efforts to pressurize the Manipur State Government, is organizing a peaceful democratic demonstration in the form of a sit-in protest near TBCI on December 13, 2024, starting from 11:30 am.
The TYCM-GHQ said in a statement today that it “stands firmly” for the tribal communities in Manipur, advocating for “our inherent rights” to live with dignity and liberty. “We believe that the future of our people lies in the hands of the youth, under the principle that ‘Youths are the Pillar of the Nation'”, the statement also said, adding, “Together, we must strive for a brighter future and create a lasting legacy for generations to come”.

The statement then said that it was “time for us to unite and raise our voices collectively” to pressurize the Government of Manipur to address “our grievances” and fulfill our charter of demands. “Your support will contribute significantly to this collective effort for justice and equality for our tribal communities,” the statement added.
The TYCM then said, “Your responsible contribution and strong voice will ensure a future where tribal communities of Manipur live with dignity and liberty. Your endorsement and unwavering support of the TYCM-GHQ efforts will serve as a vital contribution to the advancement of tribal society”.

It then urged everyone to unite and raise their voices collectively to demand that the Government of Manipur addresses “our legitimate grievances” and fulfills the charter of demands. “Your active participation will be a critical step in ensuring that the tribal communities of Manipur are heard and respected”, it further said.
The TYCM-GHQ “earnestly” appealed to all tribal communities to join this important occasion. “Your presence and solidarity will contribute immensely to this shared cause, paving the way for a future where our communities can thrive with dignity, freedom, and equality,” it further added.
