Agartala, Jun 14: In a breakthrough development, Tripura Police conducted a detailed crime scene reconstruction with two murder accused who revealed how jealousy and romantic rivalry led them to commit a calculated killing.

The New Capital Complex (NCC) Police Station orchestrated the reconstruction on Saturday afternoon, bringing the two primary accused, Dr. Dibakar Saha (28) and Nabanita Das (25), to the main crime scene at 20-year-old Joydip Das’s residence located at South Indranagar in Kabarkhola area here.

The suspects provided a comprehensive demonstration to Investigation Officer Swapan Saha and NCC Police Station Officer-in-Charge Pranjit Malakar, clearly showing how they murdered Shariful in what police sources confirm was a premeditated crime. The accused explicitly detailed their methods and revealed that this brutal killing was executed according to a carefully planned strategy developed in advance.

According to the investigation, the murder stemmed from a complex love triangle situation. Shariful had been involved in a romantic relationship with Nabanita, but complications arose between the couple. Subsequently, the woman began a romantic relationship with her cousin brother Dr. Dibakar Saha, creating the volatile situation that ultimately led to murder.

The crime was executed on the night of June 8th when Dr. Saha lured Shariful to Joydip’s house in South Indranagar under the false pretense of giving him a gift. Animesh Yadav (21) and Nabanita were already positioned at the location as part of the conspiracy. Dr. Saha murdered Shariful by strangling him at the residence, demonstrating the calculated nature of their approach.

Meanwhile, the crime scene reconstruction yielded additional crucial information that police will present in court proceedings. Law enforcement officials are continuing intensive interrogations of the two identified masterminds to determine whether other individuals participated in the conspiracy. The investigation remains active as authorities work to ensure all aspects of the case are thoroughly examined.

Police sources indicate that Nabanita and Dr. Saha functioned as the primary orchestrators of this murder, with each playing distinct roles in the conspiracy. One suspect focused on planning the execution method while the other developed the comprehensive strategy for disposing of the body and concealing evidence.

The investigation team has declined to provide additional details about the ongoing inquiry, maintaining that further information will be disclosed through appropriate legal channels as the case progresses through the judicial system.
