Four Bollywood Singers Jubin Nautiyal, Palak Muchhal, Papon & Debojit Saha to Perform in Tripura’s Unity Promo Fest 2025

Agartala, Oct 31: Aiming to outshine the record-breaking crowds drawn by Shreya Ghoshal in 2024, Tripura’s Unity Promo Fest 2025—unveiled on Friday by Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury—will bring leading music icons and cultural performers to every major destination, asserting Tripura’s place on the national entertainment map.

The month-long festival, scheduled from November 8 to December 12, represents a significant expansion from last year’s inaugural event. Unlike the 2024 edition, which was held in select venues, this year’s celebration will traverse all districts of the state, transforming Tripura into a cultural epicentre this festive season.

Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced the ambitious initiative on Friday, revealing a star-studded lineup that includes Bollywood sensation Jubin Nautiyal, playback singer Palak Muchhal, Northeast’s musical icon Papon, and Indian Idol winner Debojit Saha.

“The Unity Promo Fest 2025 is not just about tourism—it’s a celebration of togetherness, culture, and harmony among tribal and non-tribal communities,” Chowdhury said during the announcement, underscoring Tripura’s commitment to inclusive growth through cultural exchange.

The festival will kick off with a grand inauguration at Narikel Kunja on November 8 and 9, featuring food stalls, cultural performances, and a fashion show. The celebrations will then travel to Belonia on November 15 and 16, where playback singer Palak Muchhal will captivate audiences with her melodious renditions. Udaipur will host the event on November 19 and 20, featuring a live performance by singer Papon, bringing his soulful tunes to the Gomati district.

The festivities will continue at the picturesque Jampui Hills on November 28 and 29, showcasing performances by a Mizoram-based band and local artists. Neer Mahal in Sepahijala district will follow on December 4 and 5, featuring Indian Idol winner Debojit Saha. The grand finale will be held in Agartala on December 11 and 12, with Jubin Nautiyal headlining the closing night.

Last year’s inaugural Tourism Promo Fest 2024 created history when Bollywood’s Melody Queen Shreya Ghoshal delivered a spellbinding performance at Swami Vivekananda Maidan on December 14, 2024. The concert shattered attendance records with over 50,000 people gathering to witness the musical extravaganza, marking an unprecedented moment in Agartala’s cultural calendar. Her performance became the highlight of the entire festival, setting a benchmark for future editions.

Encouraged by the overwhelming public response to last year’s pilot project, the Tourism Department has expanded the scale significantly. “Last year, we organised it to study the public response, and the overwhelming turnout motivated us to make it bigger and better this time. The festival will not only promote tourism but also boost local livelihoods,” Chowdhury reiterated during Friday’s announcement.

The minister expressed confidence that this year’s edition will attract record participation, noting that several tourism infrastructure projects worth crores are underway to improve visitor experiences across all districts.
