Two Meitei Pangal labourers beaten by armed miscreants in Manipur’s border town Moreh

Moreh: Two labourers who went to unload sands and stones for construction work at Moreh IB were reportedly beaten black and blue by Kuki-Zo armed miscreants at Indo-Myanmar border town Moreh Thursday afternoon.

The injured persons belonging to Meitei-Pangal Community are residents of Keirang Chingkhong. They are identified as: Md Elaa (30), son of Singamayum Md Ibungo and Md Emin (30) son of Nongyaimayum  Sanaton.

Reliable source said, they went to the border town to transport sands and stones for construction work at Moreh IB.

As they were returning after unloading the construction materials around 12:30 pm, miscreants allegedly belonging to Kuki community hijacked their truck along the National Highway 102 at Chikim village near Moreh college and diverted towards Moreh bypass road. There the miscreants thrashed them and took hold of their vehicle before letting them free.

The victims are taking refuge at Moreh Police Station at the time of filing this report.
