Shillong: The District Magistrate of East Khasi Hills, Matsiewdor War Nongbri has designated two places in Shillong as COVID-19 containment areas.
In the latest order, Nongbri said that a house and the Municipal quarters at Malki and Bishop Cotton Road have been sealed due to the detection of COVID-19 cases and high risk contact, with immediate effect.
This house is located in Umshyrpi (near Malki Ground) at Malki which has been declared a containment area and the Municipal quarters number A4, A5, A6, A7, A8 and A9 at Bishop Cotton Road.
Meanwhile, the administration lifted the containment order earlier imposed on the Musa Compound at Jhalupara.
However, the area from Jhalupara Community Hall till Gopal Ji compound and Maya compound in Jhalupara are still retained as containment areas.
