Two returnees in Ukhrul test Covid-19 positive: Residential house declared containment area

In an order by the Assistant Commissioner, Ukhrul, Kachamthai Faiga Gangmei, two returnees of Ukhrul district tested Covid-19 positive in a report issued by District Surveillance Officer (DSO) on Monday.

As part of containment measures in connection with the detection of the Covid-19 positive case, the district magistrate of Ukhrul has issued an order on Monday that the resident of Lantin Shaiza, Alungtang, Ukhrul be declared a containment area with immediate effect.

The district magistrate ordered the sealing of the geographical area, barring entry and exit of population from the containment area, closure of school and public gatherings, banning of vehicular movement in the area/resident of Lantin Shaiza, Alungtang, initiating active surveillance of Covid-19 cases.

Any person/institution/organization found violating the prohibitory order shall be punishable under Section 188 of IPC and Section 51 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the order read.
