UKHRUL: The Thangkin Youth Club (TYC) has issued a clarification regarding a Manipur Police report dated January 21, 2026, which mentioned the arrest of a woman identified as Veronica Moyon of Thangkin village in connection with the possession of contraband items.
According to TYC General Secretary Didicus Ngoruw, while Veronica Moyon originally hails from Thangkin village, she has been married to a resident of Penaching village for the past 10 years. The youth body stated that she is currently residing in Penaching village and is no longer affiliated with Thangkin village or its activities.
The clarification, the TYC said, was issued to dispel any misconceptions or assumptions linking the incident to Thangkin village.

As per the Manipur Police update, two residents of Chandel district were arrested on Wednesday from Pallel Makha Leikai Pathabi along the Pallel IVR Road under Kakching Police Station in Kakching district, along with contraband items. One of the arrested individuals was identified by police as Veronica Moyon (28), stated to be from Thangkin village.
