UKHRUL: The Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM) has urged the Government of Manipur to introduce time-limit rules for recruitment processes, citing prolonged delays, corruption concerns and the growing unemployment crisis in the state.

In a statement, the TYCM called for transparency, fairness and accountability in recruitment, with appointments made strictly on merit and selection processes completed without unnecessary delays.

The council said recruitment processes in Manipur sometimes take between one and 10 years to complete, raising concerns about the functioning of the recruitment system. It said prolonged recruitment timelines were among the factors contributing to corruption and worsening unemployment in the state.

The TYCM urged the government to formulate and implement “Recruitment Process Time Limit Rules” to ensure a transparent and accountable system and help address unemployment.

The Tribal youth council also appreciated the Department of Social Welfare for conducting the Child Helpline 1098 Recruitment 2026 under Mission Vatsalya and the Mission Vatsalya Scheme Recruitment 2026 for 49 posts through an Optical Mark Recognition (OMR)-based examination system.

It noted that the department published the answer keys the day after the written examinations, describing the practice as a step towards greater transparency in recruitment.

The TYCM further urged the state government to adopt the OMR-based examination system for all recruitment examinations to promote transparency, fairness and accountability in the selection process.
