Speaking to Ashang Lungleng, Youth Chairman UBC, Ukhrul, he said that Project SHIMKHUR is an initiative of the Church but to achieve the goal to get the essential food items to the distressed families and individuals, donation from well wishers will go a long way.

He observed that many are struggling in the ongoing pandemic since the prolonged lockdown has taken a toll on families who rely their income solely on a daily basis. They can no longer earn or carry out their small businesses. He informed that the much needed assistance will be given to hostelers who are stranded in the lockdown, and for sick families other than Covid-19.

Ashang also expressed confidence in the ever willing to help youths and volunteers for manpower, and further added that Project SHIMKHUR will be happy to accept donation from philanthropists which will enable them to reach out to families in need.

Note:

  1. Project SHIMKHUR will only update the number of families they have reached out to since they will not be taking pictures while giving out the package.
  2. One package will contain food and essentials worth Rs.700 – 800/-
