Ukhrul, June 22: In a spirited celebration of World Music Day 2025, Ukhrul town came alive with rhythm, color, and community pride as around 200 people gathered at Ukhrul Town Hall on Saturday evening.

The event featured electrifying performances by nearly 15 artists, with a strong lineup of local bands that thrilled the audience. Notable acts included Featherheads, Polygraph, Oking Chapter, K Olive, The Retirement Band, AS Weapon, Yarshim, Yurmung Chiphang, and Ngathingpam Tangvah. A special highlight of the evening was a soulful performance by Masotkhon, which struck an emotional chord with the crowd.

Adding a unique flair to the celebration, the Hao Riders and The Soul Brothers provided a short ceremonial escort, creating a vibrant entry sequence that set the tone for the evening. Colorful face painting booths further elevated the festive mood, drawing in both children and adults.

The event was graced by Esme Singh Shaiza, Miss Shirui Lily 2025, whose presence added charm and enthusiasm to the celebration, drawing cheers from attendees.

Observed globally on June 21, World Music Day in Ukhrul was not just a tribute to music, but a celebration of identity, creativity, and community. The evening underscored Ukhrul’s growing stature as a cultural hub in Manipur, where music serves as a powerful tool for unity and expression across generations.
