Ukhrul Containment of Residential House: Three family members cleared of virus

UKHRUL: Three family members of the Imphal-returnee Covid patient were cleared from the virus after their Covid-19 test came out negative on Saturday.

As part of containment measures in connection with the detection of a Covid positive case from a residential house at Harkuikathe in Ukhrul town on September 4, the district surveillance office (DSO), Ukhrul has commenced testing of all close contacts of the patient today.

Official source from the district surveillance office said, “As first phase of testing, Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) was performed on the three family members of the patient today and during which their reports came out negative”. The family members would be retested along with all the other close contacts of the patient after five days on September 10.

Disclosing that active surveillance and containment activities are already in place, the source said that some of the contacts have been traced and their residential houses have been sealed subsequently.

It may be mentioned that the Covid status of the patient who returned from Imphal recently, was detected from a private clinic namely, Comprehensive Health Services & Research Centre (CHSRC), Hamleikhong on September 4, following which her residential house located at Harkuikathe Tang in Ukhrul district headquarters was declared as a containment zone. 

Meanwhile, CHSRC management has informed that patient frequenting the hospital was found Covid positive. The clinic has been temporarily closed down for the purpose of sanitation until further orders.
