Ukhrul District magistrate lifts containment order of residential House

Ukhrul district magistrate Sunday revoked containment order on a residential house of Covid-19 patient in Ukhrul town, stating that the patient’s family members were re-tested and found to be virus free.

The district magistrate in an order issued Sunday stated that the order of containment zone of the patient’s house at 7th Finance Commission Quarter, in Ukhrul town has been revoked as his family members have been re-tested and found to be negative. 

The patient is the Imphal returnee who tested positive for the virus on September 19 and his house was subsequently brought under containment zone the same day.

Meanwhile, an official source disclosed that the patient’s family members had been in their native place and they were among those 89 close contacts who went through RAT at Langdang village on September 25, but their results came out negative.

During the test conducted which by a team of the district surveillance office at the village, a total 12 residents from the locality tested positive for the virus.

It is learnt that there is currently none staying at the patient’s house in Ukhrul town and containment of the house was lifted after a period of seven days.

Re-test of all the close contacts would be conducted again on the fifth day, counting from the last test and revocation or continuance of the containment measures in the village would be decided accordingly, it added.
