UKHRUL: The National People’s Party (NPP), Ukhrul–Kamjong Unit welcomed new members from the two districts who have formally joined the party.
Official sources said several distinguished leaders, including former executive member and former BJP state executive member Ngachonmi Ramshang, former president of Tangkhul Mayar-Ngala Long (TMNL) Thanmi L Shimray, former general secretary of Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) Layolan Vashum, and advocate and former speaker of Tangkhul Katamnao Long Imphal (TKLI) Zingranso Shatsang have joined the party.

Meanwhile, the NPP members of 43-Phungyar Assembly Constituency congratulated Jason Jajo on his appointment as an executive member of the NPP State Executive Committee (SEC), the highest decision-making body of the party in the state. Before joining NPP, he served as an executive member (Phungva) in the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) office and was also associated with the Indian National Congress (INC) as a delegate member.
The new members were officially inducted during the Party Consultative Meeting cum Induction Program organised by the NPP Manipur State Unit on Monday at Classic Grande, Imphal. The programme was attended by national vice-president I Hemochandra Singh, national general secretary (Political) Mmhonlumo Kikon, national secretary Saidul Khan, state president Lorho S Pfoze, state senior vice-president Jilasana, state general secretary (Admin) Lakpachui Siro, state general secretary (Organisation) Dhanabir Maibam, along with leaders from NPWF and NPYF.

“The joining of the new members reflects that people are increasingly accepting the call of our most respected National president Conrad K Sangma—that the people of the Northeast must come together to raise our collective voice as one through a united political platform. We are confident that this growing support will further strengthen the party and build greater momentum, particularly in the three constituencies that fall under the Ukhrul–Kamjong NPP District Unit,” the sources added.
