Ukhrul Police Continues To Pull Up SOP Violators Amid COVID-19 Surge

In continuation of their crusade against new COVID-19 surge in the Manipur, a team of Ukhrul police department led by Additional SP (LO) and SDPO Ukhrul on Wednesday conducted market drive and pulled up people who were not following the SOP in the district Headquarters.

With the aim to prevent further spread, it has been making series of announcement in order that people followed and take up the necessary preventive measures. “Those violating the SOP were detained, punished and issued challan head on in the town as they inspected the different places of the town.

People moving in the downtown without mask were pulled out for their lackadaisical behaviour amid the ever surging positive cases.

Passengers moving in the cars sans mask were not spared either.

Given the intensity of the new COVID positive cases in the state, district police has been proactively and strictly monitoring the developments in the district.

According to the state health department release, Manipur recorded 259 cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, out of which, Ukhrul reported four.
