Ukhrul, April 18: Ramngashim Football Turf Ground, which is constructed inside the compound of Ragui’s Memorial Prayer Garden cum Recreational Centre at Lanai Tang, Ukhrul was officially inaugurated on Friday.
Situated about 7 km on the western side of Ukhrul Town, the turf ground has a parking space for more than 20 cars. Visitors can get a very good view of the western part of Ukhrul Town.
Sochipem Luikham officially inaugurated the turf ground by cutting the ribbon. Principal of Ukhrul Central School, Robert Leishangthem kicked off the first match played between Imphal Team vs Ukhrul Team.

“The turf ground is constructed with an aim to expand our outlook and to encourage the most popular sports -football among the young people” stated the proprietor.
Anem Vashi, resident of the locality, lauded the project and stated that it would be a great boon for the locality especially the youths. “Such facilities can create an environment for boosting healthy habits” added Anem Vashi.
Spanning 41 metres in length and 27 metres in wide, the turf ground is one of the biggest to be functional in Ukhrul District now. For booking, interested people may kindly contact +91 9366893481.
