UNC and ANSAM Condemn Bomb Attack at Minister Khashim Vashum’s Residence

SENAPATI, SEP 17: The United Naga Council (UNC) and the All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur (ANSAM) have issued strong condemnations following a bomb attack on Manipur Minister Khashim Vashum. The attack, which occurred on September 14, 2024, at Vashum’s residence in Hamleikhong, Ukhrul, has been described by both organizations as a “heinous” act that threatens the social fabric of the region.

The ANSAM expressed deep dismay, calling the explosion a “dreadful act” that exacerbates the already volatile situation in Manipur. The organization has urged for a prompt and thorough investigation, demanding that the perpetrators face stringent punishment to ensure justice.

Similarly, the UNC condemned the attack as an attempt to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of Ukhrul and challenge the rule of law. The UNC described the act as a cowardly attack not only on Vashum but also on all peace-loving citizens. They have called for immediate and earnest investigation and for the culprits to be met with exemplary punishment.

Both the UNC and ANSAM have urged the Naga community to remain vigilant against forces attempting to undermine their unity and peace.
