Nagaland Tourism Minister Inaugurates ‘Kisama House Restaurant’ Ahead of Hornbill Festival 2024

Kohima: In preparation for the 25th edition of the Hornbill Festival 2024, a new facility aimed at enhancing the visitor experience was inaugurated near Kisama Bamboo Hall, Naga Heritage Village, on September 17, 2024.

The “Kisama House Restaurant,” established by KMK Enterprise with support from the Tourism Department, will offer a variety of Indian and Continental dishes year-round for local and domestic tourists. However, during the Hornbill Festival, the restaurant will exclusively serve pure vegetarian cuisine.

Temjen Imna Along, Nagaland’s Minister for Tourism & Higher Education, officiated the inauguration, commending KMK Enterprise for their efforts in creating a beautifully curated restaurant. He emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness and civic responsibility among visitors and encouraged the restaurant’s management to uphold high standards in food quality and hygiene.

The Minister also highlighted the unity of the Naga people and the cultural heritage represented by Kisama, a name derived from the villages of Kigwema and Phesama. He further underscored the government’s investment, under Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, in preserving Kisama as a cultural and historical hub, expressing hopes for its continued prominence, especially during the upcoming Hornbill Festival.

Nagaland’s Tourism Director, Veyielo Doulo, added that “Kisama House” will operate as a multi-cuisine restaurant while ensuring vegetarian options during the festival.
