Union MoS Nimuben Jayantibhai Highlights Central Government’s Focus on Northeast Development During Imphal Visit

IMPHAL, Aug 29: Union Minister of State for CAF & PD, Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya said today that Prime Minister Narendra Modi focuses on the development and prosperity of the Northeast region, including the matter of connectivity.

The Union minister said this upon her arrival in Imphal today.

The Union Minister of State was received by Manipur CAF & PD Minister, L Susindro and officials of the department at the Bir Tikendrajit International Airport, Imphal at around 1.20 pm.

Later, Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya visited Loktak Lake where she was accorded warm welcome by Manipur Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya among others.

The Union Minister of State also had a meal together with Manipur Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya and others at Sendra.

She then visited Naransheina Mamang Leikai, Phubala, Ningthoukhong, Kha Potshangbam and Bishnupur Mini Secretariat and reviewed the centrally sponsored schemes taken up there and held meeting.

Speaking to reporters on the sideline of the visit, the Union Minister of State asserted that the Central Government has taken the Manipur crisis very seriously and taken up measures to restore peace and normalcy in the State.

Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya then conveyed that her purpose for visiting Manipur is to see the ground implementation of the centrally sponsored schemes being taken up in the State.

The Union Minister of State also stated that a collective effort is required for effective implementation of the governmental schemes so that people can reap its maximum benefits.
