Valley and hill Churches holds prayer meeting for restoration of peace in Manipur

Kamjong: Christian Elder’s Peace Mission Imphal and Meitei Christian Churches Council Manipur jointly organised a one day fasting and prayer programme on the theme of Restoration of Peace and Normalcy at Kamjong District’s Chadong New Site Baptist Church.

More than 300 delegates from different Churches attended the programme and also various issues facing by Meitei pastors and members under the prevailing situation was also discussed. Various Tangkhul Church leaders from various denomination also attended.

Union Baptist Church Ukhrul’s Rev. Remember Rimai lead the prayer followed by other pastors.

On the sidelines of the prayer meeting, Christian Elder Peace Mission Imphal secretary Ashang Kasar stated that the present situation in Manipur is still tense. The government of Manipur and Centre has taken measures to solve the issue. However, Christian from both the hills and valley, especially the Tangkhul Naga and Meitei Christians have come together and jointly prayed for the State — prayer is must in this present circumstances, Ashang Kasar added.

“War cannot bring peace but love can conquer the hearts of every human being so we all jointly pray to the Lord for peace and harmony in Manipur,” Ashang Kasar further said.
