Vehicles restricted along Dimapur-Kohima-Mao Gate

Dimapur: The Nagaland Transport department has notified today to restrict certain types of vehicles along the National Highway in Dimapur-Kohima-Mao Gate stretch from July 18, 2022.

According to the notification, in the interest of public safety and convenience, in exercise of powers conferred under Section 115 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, the Nagaland State Transport department has notified on the prohibition of movement of any transport vehicles beyond three-axle, including semi-tractor articulated trailers which is also three axle vehicle but whose carrying capacity is 30.5 tonnes or more, along the National Highway stretch from Dimapur to Kohima to Mao Gate for the period from July 18, 2022 to August 11, 2022. Further, prohibition of upward journey of the above cited vehicles will not be permitted from Dimapur with effect from the midnight of July 15, 2022.

The Motor Vehicles department in co-ordination with the concerned district administration and the Police department will enforce strict implementation and will cause appropriate traffic signs to be placed or erected under Section 116 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 at suitable places.
