War on Drugs: One Arrested With Drugs Worth Rs 2.54 Crores at Tengnoupal

Tengnoupal Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(S) foiled smuggling attempt of contraband items at Tengnoupal on 8 March 2021.

The AR personnel arrested an individual with brown sugar worth around Rs. 2.54 crores on Monday. The arrested individual is identified as Mr. K Dovile, S/o A Kapabni Lali, of Tadubi, Senapati Manipur. He was arrested with 99 packets of suspected brown sugar weighing 1.27 kgs worth 2.54 Crores.

According to report, the personnel of Tengnoupal Assam Rifle at Tengnoupal check post intercepted a Tata Sumo ( NL 01 H 4343) coming towards Imphal from Moreh around 9 am of March.

On thorough checking of the vehicle, 99 packets of suspected brown sugar weighing 1.27 kgs worth Rs. 2.54 Crores were found concealed beneath the rear passenger seat.

The items were seized and the driver of the vehicle Mr K Dovile, S/o A Kapabni Lali was arrested. The detained driver and the recovered items have been handed over to Tengnoupal Police Station for further investigation.
