Manipur police on Sunday arrested three alleged drug peddlers with the recovery of illegal drugs worth over Rs 1 crore in the international market, according to police.
A team of Imphal East district police arrested the trio following the recovery of the drugs during a search operation in and around Kairang Chingya area under Heingang police station of the district.
The arrested persons were identified as Md Imtiyaz (41), Md Manir (30) and Md Sahid Khan (45), the police also said.

According to the police, apart from 891.35 gram of heroin powder (No.4), 26 mobile phone handsets, one laptop, 719 empty plastic veils allegedly use in packing the drug, 29 disposable syringes, three two-wheelers, one car, one double barrel gun, one empty case of double barrel gun, one room heater and Rs 35,620 in cash were recovered during the operation, the police further said.
While parading the alleged drug peddlers along with the recovered items, Imphal East SP Jogreshchandra Haobijam said that the operation was launched by a strong police team led by additional SP (Operations) Ronie Mayengbam of the district based on specific information.
He said that the police conducted random search operations and house to house searches in the areas leading to the recovery of the items along with the three drug paddlers.

The recovery of plastic veils and disposable syringes indicated that the trio engaged in supplying drugs to the local drug users, he alleged.
The arrested trio along with the seized items were handed over to Heingang police station for necessary investigation and legal actions, the police officer said.
The operation was launched as a part of the ongoing war against drugs in the state, he added.
