Thoubal police on Sunday (March 7) have busted two Heroin Brown Sugar Laboratories at Lilong Nungei Khunou and seized huge quantities of contraband drugs. Three persons have also been arrested and 4-others remain absconding.
Based on reliable input a team of CDO Unit Thoubal, Thoubal Ps, Lilong PS led by Sachidananda Soibam MPS, Addl SP (Ops). Thoubal Insp Md Ria Khan, Officer In-Charge Lilong PS, Insp N Tikendra Meetei, Officer In-Charge, CDO Unit Thoubal, SI S. Ibomcha Singh, 2nd OC Thoubal PS under the command and overall supervision of Dr S. lbomcha Singh MPs Superintendet of Police, Thoubal Distict raided two houses in Lilong Nungei Khunou around 8:45 pm and seized 1104. 98 kgs Heroin Brown Sugar, 565 gms of Refined Heroin Brown sugar, 5kgs of Opium, 131 litres of Morphinated Liquid and other items used in manufacturing the contraband drugs.

The police also arrested 3-persons. The three arrested are
1). Md Yunush Khan (22 yrs) S/o Md Maniruddin of Nungei Mamang Leika
2). Bogimayum Sher Shaha (23 yrs) S/o B. Sheraj Ahamad of Uchiwa Haotabi Makha Leikai
3). Md Manergul (53 yrs) S/o Late Md. Najaruddin of Liong Nungei Khuncu Mamang Leikai
The four persons who were involved in the drug manufacturing and are absconding are :
1). Md. Akbar Khan (51 yrs) S/o Md Chaoba of Thoubal Moijng Wangmataba. (Supplier of Opium. Ex-Head Constable who was dismissed from service on 26-10-2020 for involving in a drug case)
2). Md. Maneruddin (40 yrs) S/o Late Md. Najeruddin of Liong Nungei Khunou Mamng Leikai
3). Md. Anish Khan (19 yrs) S/o Md Maneruddin of Lilong Nungei Khunou Mamng Leikai.
4). Md. Mustofa (19 yrs) S/o Md. Manergul of Lilong Nungei Khunou Mamang Leikai.
Police also seized Rs 61400 cash and 3-vehicle which are suspected to be used in transporting the drugs.
An FIR has been registered at Lilong Police Station
