E-commerce Flipkart India after the enormous mishandling of a customer service query from Nagaland over their e-retail social media handle, the e-commerce giant later quickly deleted the reply following public outrage all over India.
But deleting the chat wasn’t good enough. By then, many had taken screenshots and Flipkart employee’s reply was widely shared on social media.
While Flipkart goof up refuses to settle down on social media, Amazon India has something up its sleeves. Yet a qualified one in that.
Amazon India on October 9, just after Flipkart fumbled, announced expansion of its delivery network in the 8 Northeast states with precision. This seems like a smart calibrated move, gaining grounds where Flipkart couldn’t?
The headline reads, Amazon India deepens its reach in the North East ahead of the festive season
Amazon India with close to 60 Amazon-owned and delivery Service Partner stations in Northeast India, it said “the company has added several new pin codes to its delivery footprint ahead of the festive season this year, including remote towns such as Champhai, Kolasib, Lumding, Pasighat and Mokokchung”. Yes you read that right, Mokokchung is in Nagaland.
See what Prakash Rochlani, Director, Last Mile Operations, Amazon India, said about Northeast-Amazon India-service, while Flipkart is confused with Northeast map of India. The sentiment of Northeast Indian speaks: Flipkart, first of all, figure out, in what part of the union of India, Nagaland state is!
We are confident that our continued investments in the North East will enable us to deliver on this promise. With the festive season right around the corner, we look forward to strengthening our presence in the region to reach a wider customer base and creating more work opportunities.
