On the glorious occasion of 3rd Foundation Day, Wisecrabs – Chandel organized ‘A District Level Video Contest’ in collaboration with District Administration and 18 Assam Rifles with a primary objective to involve students from the age of 6 to 18 to polish their knowledge level and aid in their personality development.
The Prize Distribution cum Foundation Day celebration was held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at DC Conference Hall Mini Complex Chandel. The occasion was graced by Mayanglambam Rajkumar, IAS (Deputy Commissioner Chandel) and Col. Ajit Khatri, Comdt. 18 Assam Rifles. A symbolic cake cutting ceremony was held to mark the anniversary, followed by stirring and inspiring speeches from both dignitaries.
Mayanglambam congratulated the winners and shared personal anecdote to emphasize the importance of having personal goals and working steadfastly towards it. Col. Khatri encouraged the younger folk to get involved in nation making and society building professions and set exemplary precedents for others to follow. The winners of the contest with their respective parents received the cash prizes, certificates, and gifts from the Deputy Commissioner and Commandant 18 AR respectively.
The special contest had four categories – Age 6-7 (Poetry recitation) judged by Mayanglambam Rajkumar, IAS (DC Chandel), Age 8-9 (Poetry recitation) judged by Donring Saloisanei & Evergreat Wanglar, Age 10-14 (Oral Presentation) judged by Juli Daryal, MCS & Shelmi Sankhil, and Age 15-18 (Oral presentation) judged by John Shilshi (IPS Retd) & Th. Tommy Monsang.
The results for entire age groups were announced on 15th August, 2021 and the lists of honors are as follows:

Wisecrabs – Chandel would like to thank all the students, parents, and supporters who made the contest a resounding success. Speaking to Ukhrul Times Chandel correspondent, Ts. Mhanthung Anal, the Founder and President of Wisecrabs-Chandel highlighted that “Within a short span of 10 days, we received over 130 videos from Chandel inhabitants residing all over the country. The task of judging the videos was an elephantine responsibility undertaken splendidly by our judges – We are grateful and in awe of our star studded team of Judges. The Club thanks Sng Pearson, Ts Sher Bahadur and Ts Elius for providing valuable help in contest related activities. The contest was a dream come true, thanks to the support and guidance by Mayanglambam Rajkumar, IAS DC Chandel and Col. Ajit Khatri, Comdt 18 AR”.
Most importantly, Wisecrabs – Chandel thanks and appreciates every single person who supported and helped the club in various capacities in the past 3 glorious years. We have come thus far and further we have to go.
