WMC to Hold Imphal Meepham on April 19

UKHRUL: The World Meetei Council (WMC) will hold its 6th Plenary Session – IMPHAL MEEPHAM 2026 at the City Convention Centre, Imphal on April 19.

According to the WMC, the session aims to strengthen unity among Meeteis across the globe, protect common interests, and secure a brighter future for the coming generations.

The event will consist of a general conference, deliberations and participation of delegates and members from within Manipur as well as from different parts of India and abroad.

WMC stated that it is committed to safeguarding the social, cultural and political interests of the Meetei community.

The resolution for inclusion of Meeteis in the Scheduled Tribe list under the Constitution of India – first adopted at Guwahati Meepham 2021 and reaffirmed in subsequent Meephams – continues to be their top priority, it added.
