WTR Confiscates and Destroys Liquor

Ukhrul, March 14: The Wung Tangkhul Region (WTR) in its effort to curb substance abuse seized and destroyed large quantities of liquor including whiskey, beer and andro majin.

CAO of WTR, Samson Jajo informed, “WTR will continue our effort to eradicate the substance abuse in the Wung region. Action will be taken against those who are involved in peddling drugs and liquor.” Samson Jajo also appealed to the public for support and cooperation in their quest for ending drug menace in the society.

The seized items include 1300 litres of andro majin, 30 cases of beer and 10 cases of whiskey. The seized items were destroyed in the presence of media at WTR Office, Ukhrul Headquarters.

The WTR in its effort has been monitoring the import of drugs and liquor in its region and has seized and destroyed large quantities of heroin, liquor and other drugs.
