XXIX Vedaoyu Niih Freshers’ Meet 2024 Held: Celebrating Poumai Naga Culture in Bangalore

The XXIX Vedaoyu Niih Freshers’ Meet 2024, organized by the Poumai Naga Tsiidoumai Me Bangalore (PNTMB), brought together the community in a vibrant celebration of cultural heritage and unity. Held at the India Campus Crusade for Christ on Hennur Main Road, the annual event was marked by traditional festivities, inspiring speeches, and a warm sense of camaraderie.

J. Kumo Sha graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, receiving a heartfelt welcome from the Poumai Bangalore community, who greeted him with traditional whooping sounds. The event was enriched by the Presidential address of Esli Joel Vemai, whose words set the tone for the day’s celebrations.

Cultural performances, featuring participants in traditional attire, captivated the audience, reflecting the rich heritage of the Poumai Naga community. Esteemed Guests of Honor, including Dr. Grace Ngade, Dr. Loung Nathan, and Subader P. Silas, delivered powerful exhortations, emphasizing the importance of cultural preservation and community solidarity.

Notable attendees included Nungsangmongla Ozukum, President of the Naga Students’ Union Bangalore (NSUB), and representatives from the Manipur Diaspora Bangalore (MDB), alongside several Naga sub-unit leaders. The event was generously supported by sponsors such as Hornbill’s Kitchen, Korean Glams Stn., and Maven Kitchen. Visual Perception, the creative and media partner, ensured the event was visually stunning and well-documented.

A highlight of the event was the crowning of Shipoukho Mazamo Wisdom and Siirene Rova as Mr and Miss Freshers 2024, symbolizing the bright future and potential of the community’s youth.
