New Delhi, June 3: Yaorei Horam, former president of the Tankghul Katamnao Long, Delhi (TKLD) has been elected as the 59th president of the Naga Students’ Union, Delhi (NSUD) on Saturday for the tenure 2023-2024.
The election was held at Nagaland State Guest House RK Puram, New Delhi.

Yaorei Horam hails from Halang village in Manipur’s Ukhrul District. He is a graduate from Don Bosco College, Maram and later on completed LLB from University of Delhi.
Apart from his stint as the former president of TKLD, Yaorei Horam held offices of NSUD as assistant general secy for 2018-2019 tenure. The following year he was re-elected as the vice president NSUD for the term 2019-2021. His term as TKLD president expired in the early part of 2023.

The newly elected NSUD executive council for the tenure 2023-2024 are Rongshingam Dilbung vice president; Jepi Y Chiso general secretary; Johnson Yangnah asst. general secretary; Adeo Dozo finance secretary; Shonmi Thumra wome coordinator.
The election commission comprised of three members namely, Thejalhaoukho Casavi as chairperson, Isaac Inkah (member) Stephen Thuerr (member).
The election commission conveyed hearty congratulations to the newly elected team and wished them the very best as they shoulder the responsibilities of the union in the year ahead. “The newly constituted NSUD team are encouraged to strive for due representation of all tribal units in filling the vacant posts of the Executive Council and Assembly Affairs,” the election commission said.
